By Sunday, April 14, 1861, news of Fort Sumter’s surrender has now reached all parts of the North and South. Throughout Georgia and the South the mood is celebratory, while in the North it is one of outrage. Special church services are held today throughout Georgia and elsewhere. The image is from the Philadelphia Inquirer newspaper of April 13, 1861 declaring that war has begun.

Before the Holidays, we read about the Blue and Grey Civil War Reenactment in Moorpark, CA - the largest west of the Mississippi. We brought our cameras along and cut a short promo with what we captured. We would like to thank the folks at A Civil War Alliance for putting on a great event!
